Today Nilo Blues shares a new single "She Like It" and announces his forthcoming debut self-titled EP, due August 7th via Pack Records. Across the EP's six tracks, Blues rejects racial stereotypes and challenges genre tropes. With "She Like It," Blues examines the hypermasculinity that exists in hip-hop music. "She Like It" follows the release of EP singles “Akira Harakiri" and "No Risk Involved." An explosive, neon-lit banger, “Akira Harakiri” pays homage to the anime and cartoons Blues held close growing up. The song fuses the raw tenacity of ‘Akira’ with the thriving energy of ‘Dragonball Z’ for a powerful combination that leaves listeners craving more. “No Risk Involved” is Blues' intrepid statement on cultural identity and stereotyping of Asian culture. Jarring and personal, the track sonically blends N*E*R*D-esque guitars with cold trap drums. The song has accumulated 200K+ Spotify streams and landed on New Music Friday (Canada) and Fresh Finds playlists. Make sure to check out the video for the new single out now .
